Tibet

The Chinese occupation of Tibet was something I wanted to go and see. They have indeed taken over a lot of the place and pushed the Tibetans off to the side. Amazingly the Tibetans are all still a very kind and gentle people and the further out from Lhasa you go the more of the real people you tend to come across.

I stayed a week in Lhasa before heading out in a jeep with a couple of other guys, Michelle, also from UK and Martin from Denmark. We took in a few towns and villages, including Guantse, Shigatse, Sakya, Tingre and the border town with Nepal. We also took a night up at Everest Base camp which coincidently was my 25th birthday so we were up for the sunrise and beautiful views of the mamma of them all.
